This wonderful large glass table lamp from ILU di Vetro In a very rare version of red on white in what we think is the largest version in which this color was made.
This beautiful unique glass table lamp from ILU di Vetro, Zebra model W284, with red swirl is a rare finding in our selection. The lamp provides a beautiful atmospheric light and fits into any interior.
The model is called Zebra, derived from the beautiful swirl that runs through the entire screen from bottom to top. The swirl has been added manually and runs from bottom to top. The design and edition is in charge of the Dutch company ILU design. This lamp was part of his Vetro line that were all made with glass in LAM Italy. There is definitely no other lamp like this.
The glass is quite thick. These are quality lamps.
From what we were able to track, they arrived on the market for the first time in the second half of the 1990s and were on sale for at least a decade. In the Netherlands, most were sold in the luxury department stores of Bijenkorf. Zebra lamps were also issued by other lamp manufacturers in other countries.
The ILU Zebra lamps were manufactured in 4 sizes in this shape of a pressed pebble size. Sizes M and L, as offered here, were the best sellers.
The lamp is marked with an ILU adhesive label near the bottom edge

Condition:
The inside of the lower edge has some needle tip roughness points, caused by the brass pins. It is very minimal and completely out of sight inside. Apart from that, the lamp is in a practically new condition with beautiful glass everywhere. We couldn't detect a single scratch.
There are a series of production air bubbles inside the glass. These can be found in several areas of the glass. Some are bubbles about 5 millimeters / 0.19 inches in diameter that can be on the surface. Towards the bottom there are one or two extensions of small air bubbles that are further inside the glass layers. At first glance, these may look like stains, but if you look closely, you realize that they are small bubbles. This is more fascinating than a condition problem.
The metal base is in excellent condition with only minor paint wear on the outer inner edge. Everything - again - completely out of sight.
The wiring, the switch and the plug have a lesser discoloration and are now more creamy white.

Large red and white ILU di Vetro glass XL table floor lamp.
Light zebra pattern. Italian glass. Dutch design modern swirl striped. Design and release is by the Dutch company ILU design. This lamp was part of their Vetro line. The lamps from the Vetro line are all made with glass from Italy. The model is called Zebra and this is the red version. The beautiful "zebra" swirl runs from bottom to top around the shade. The swirls are added manually, making each one unique. The size is quite large, so the lamp looks beautiful on a sideboard or low cabinet but is also very suitable as a floor lamp. The glass shade rests on a white coated metal base and is fastened with three brass screws that can be loosened and tightened by hand. Beautiful shape reminiscent of a pebble. The lamp is marked with an ILU sticker label near the bottom edge and on the lamp holder. This also states "Made in Holland. Dimensions: Height: approx. 31 cm Diameter: at widest point approx. 45 cm Thickness of the glass: approx. 0.4 cm Condition: Excellent to new condition. At the bottom there is a small black spot in the glass, see photo. Also, the coated base has some wear spots on it as the lamp has served as a floor lamp. Both are not visible when the lamp is in place. The ILU Zebra lamps are made in 4 sizes in this indented pebble shape. The sizes M and L work the most frequently sold. This XL size is quite rare!
